Halloween
Having a new costume for school was so important and a must in elementary school. I always wanted the latest or most popular costume. I can remember every costume I had in my earlier days. Out of all of my costumes in elementary school, I enjoyed my second grade princess costume the most. First, every little girl wants to feel like a princess. However, on my way to my aunt’s house, this guy in a van, glanced in the car and saw me dressed in my costume and my cousin’s costume (who was dressed as a devil). The guy got on his CB Radio loudspeaker and announced that I was a princess and he was a devil. I felt special because everyone on the highway could hear. Thinking back, it is funny how the smallest things are sometimes the most memorial things.

3 types of writing options
Out of all of the opinion topics, I enjoyed writing the commentary the best. I enjoyed writing the commentary, because it was something that I personally experienced. It is a good feeling to write something that you feel so passionate about.

My animal issues!
So everyone around me including neighbors, friends and family love and absolutely adore their pets. The common pet that everyone usually has is a dog. It is not that I dislike dogs or any animals; it is just I have fear that comes over me when I am around just about any animal. I assume something must have happened to me at really young age, that sparked fear in me; I just can’t remember the situation. I can tolerate a dog on a leash because I feel safe that their owner is control. The minute the dog is unleashed, so is my fear that the dog is going to bite me. If I am in close proximity of a dog, they seem to love to try and climb up my leg which freaks me out! If I am in public, by myself and I see a stray dog which seems to happen quite a bit on campus, I try an go the opposite way to dodge the dog. Some day, I hope I will be able to conquer my fear of animals, especially dogs!

Marley & Me
Marley & Me is a movie that everyone can relate to. The movie is not just for dog lovers or columnist, it pertains to everyone, showing the ups and downs of life. Owen Wilson who plays John Grogan and Jennifer Aniston plays the role of Jenny Grogan, his wife, are the two main characters in the movie. John Grogan decides to get a puppy for Jenny hoping that would keep her from wanting a child. The puppy Jenny chooses is referred to as the”clearance puppy”, but was officially named Marley.
Marley becomes more than a handful for the couple. Although, Marley would really test their patience, it just showed the Grogan’s true love for their dog. Marley practically ate their entire house, literally, chewing on their drywall, couch, shoes and anything insight.
After the new puppy, Jenny finds out she is pregnant to later find she miscarried. John recieves a promotion on his job and uses Marley’s daily activities to cover his columns.
Later on, Jenny does have a boy then another boy and a girl. Having children and still a very hyper dog, once again pushes Jenny and John’s relationship. Relocating the family and John switching jobs adds more stress to the relationship.
I enjoyed the fact that the movie was just being real. Nothing in life is perfect. There is no perfect job, relationship or dog. The movie shows the power of love. When love is a key factor in anything, you can overcome obstacles.
At the end, Marley does die. However, this is sad but to me it was like Marley was saying my work here is done. Marley had put this couple through the test. I think Marley could rest knowing that the Grogan family is rock solid.
I feel that Marley & Me possessed the right amount of humor, sadness and daily issues that everyone can relate to. I would give Marley and Me four stars out of five.

Parking lot!
So it finally happened to me! I have been doing great; I’ve been parking in the parking lot since Fall of 2007 and have never had any problems. I have heard some horror stories of people hitting their car and many accidents. I had been knocking on wood, that it would not happen to me. Sadly, someone did scratch my car recently. I’m guessing someone backed, back too much and grazed it. I am thankful that there is not a dent; so it can be covered up. I know I made a HUGE deal about it when I first saw it because I try so hard to take care of anything I have, no matter how small it is. It is a small scratch, about an inch and a half or a little more. It just makes you angry that someone can come and do damage to something that you truly care about and not admit what they did.

Next opinion topic!
It is hard to come up with article ideas at times. Sometimes your first idea is the best one and sometimes you have to think a little harder for better ideas. I had a few ideas but I decided not to go along with my initial idea. I finally decided on an issue that I experienced recently, with children and their education levels. It seems unreal to me, that some children over the age of 12 years old, can barely read on a second grade level. However, I experienced first hand that this is a reality, many children struggle to read. After witnessing the low literacy levels, I really was speechless myself. I felt helpless because I did not know what to do to help. I am use to a young child, trying to learn how to read but a 12 year old. The issue bothered me for a couple of days after this experience. I feel passionate about this topic, so I am sure this is the topic that I should write about.

Videos
I think that I am qualified to write about videos because I enjoy them very much. I love to watch a good movie and I have seen so many. I am always open to all different kinds of movies from horror, action, comedy and even romance. I will even watch a movie that has not recieved good ratings, rather it is from a friend or movie critics. After seeing so many movies, I can judge if the movie possesses the characteristices to be a good movie. Also, many people are quick to judge a movie in the first 30 seconds to 5 minutes of a movie. I know just like you can not judge a book by its cover you can’t judge a movie by the beginning. You have to watch a movie from beginning to end to fully judge a movie. The last few minutes of a movie can completley change the entire opinion of a movie.

October!!
I am so happy that it is October! It is finally cool and pleasant outside. More importantly we are half way through the semester. I have never been so excitied to take my midterm. Taking my midterm last week reminded me once again that we are half way done with the semester. Once November is here, things are just about over. The Thanksgiving holiday takes up most of a week in November, which I have no problem with at all! The semester is going by pretty fast; I just hope that it continues to go rapidly!

Column in the Rambler
As annoyed as I am about the entire Kanye West issue, I still do not know how I feel about the situation. In Laurence’s opinion piece, he believes it could be a possibility that the entire thing was a conspiracy. However, knowing how sporadic West is, makes it really hard for one to judge. I’m not so sure that is was planned. It is one of those things that I hope was not planned; if it were planned, it would make the situation worse for me because that means he actually took thought it making a fool of himself. I understand the main thing is about money, but in the same light, he made people who might have already been skeptical about him, not like him at all. So, if this were planned, he had to have known that it was not a positive all the way around.

Weather
I have really been enjoying the weather change. Having 80 degree weather has been fantastic. If our summer weather never reached temperatures over 80 degrees, I think I would practically live outside. I would love to do more outdoor activities but it is just so hot outside in the summer; you practically have to wait until 9 p.m. for it to finally start cooling off. It makes life walking around campus so much easier too. You actually do not melt before walking to another class. Only problem, I just hope the weather stays consistent because today it is certainly past 80 degree weather!!
