One of the three new professors hired in the school of business, includes Dr. Trisha Woolley, assistant professor of management
“With all of the professors hired, I see them being able to help the school reach the goal of becoming an Advance Collegiate School of Business accreditation, said Dr. Hector Quintanilla, dean of the school of business”. “Only about 5 percent of all schools of business hold the elite title”
Woolley is included as one of the professors who can aid the school in the AACSB direction. Woolley received her bachelor’s degree and MBA for Marist College. She received her doctorate’s degree in management and concentration in science at the University of Massachusetts. Woolley was a research assistant before coming to Wesleyan.
Woolley is originally from New York. “I researched the area first; I came to Wesleyan because it is a small private community”. “Woolley said I enjoy the friendly faculty; also, it is close to my husband’s job”.
Woolley prefers to be in the classroom where she feels needed most. “I was motivated to teach because I love helping people and explaining” said Woolley.
Woolley knew for sometime, that she wanted to teach. “I have always loved to teach,” Woolley said. “In college, is when I first realized that I wanted to teach. I started out substituting and tutoring privately. Then it clicked that I wanted to teach on a college level.”
“My favorite thing about teaching is that I can connect with the student’s and have them come back and share”.
Woolley is glad that she found Wesleyan. “My favorite thing about Wesleyan is that just like the students are not just a number, neither are the professors,” Woolley said.
